What is disruptive?
For us to consider the word disruptive, we shall first consider the root word; disrupt. Means to prevent something, especially a system, process, or event, from continuing as usual or as expected. One thing stands out in this definition and it is moving away from the norm (usual) as it were.
What is thinking?
It is the process of considering or reasoning about something.
Thought (also called thinking) is the mental process in which beings form psychological associations and models of the world. Thinking is manipulating information, as when we form concepts, engage in problem solving, reason and make decisions. Thought, the act of thinking, produces more thoughts. A thought may be an idea, an image, a sound or even control an emotional feeling.
So Disruptive thinking can be said to be moving away from the ‘norm’ due to unfavorable conditions to seek out better ways of doing things.
The year 2020, is one we will not forget in a hurry. It presented such situations that saw a quantum leap in our thinking process which can only be described by that word, DISRUPTION.
It revealed how our lives are governed by how we perceive our world via the medium of thoughts by engaging our thinking processes.
In this Episode of the Word Café Podcast, we tried to dwell on this to throw some light on the subject.
