We all yearn for perfection, to be complete and fulfilled. In pursuit of this, life happens, and we experience some pain here and there. Sometimes we feel like just giving up, but with a careful look at life's underlying principles, you will realize that repair is an aspect of life that we can learn so much from to make the best of that broken situation in our lives.
The art of repair encompasses various skills and practices involved in restoring and fixing objects, whether mechanical, electronic, or artistic. It is a concept that emphasizes the value of repairing and preserving things rather than discarding them and buying replacements. Repairing saves resources and promotes sustainability and a deeper connection with our possessions.
Now juxtapose this with the human vessel (life), which is far more valuable than materials and cannot be replaced like physical materials are. Mere numbers cannot quantify life's value of life it is precious and sacred, and even when it appears to be broken, the essence that flows from it is still as significant as that which flows from an unbroken life. This is why it should be treasured and cherished.
In this episode of the Word Café Podcast, I share some unique stories about the ancient art of repair from China, reveal the importance of repair and how this points to the sacredness of the human life here on Earth.
