S5 Ep. 305 From Random To Focus

“You are random.” That single word can land like a joke or a jab, but I take it seriously and use it as a doorway into something bigger: why our minds feel scattered, where thoughts actually come from, and how focus can be trained instead of wished for.

We start light, then move into a real moment from a conversation with my wife that forces me to look at my speaking style and my thinking patterns. From there, I break down what “random” suggests: uncoordinated attention, winging it, reacting to whatever hits you next. I also share a line I can’t shake, that slim line between fate and coincidence, and why the real leverage point is learning to stay focused long enough for your ideas to take shape.

Then we go deeper into mindset and mental clarity. I ask the uncomfortable question: where do thoughts come from? I connect it to image and imagination, what we constantly see, what we keep in front of us, and how that becomes meditation, language, and action. If you’ve ever struggled with thought control, distraction, or staying consistent, this perspective reframes the “battlefield” as attention management.

To close, I bring in Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein as a reminder that breakthroughs often start as searching, not certainty. If this resonates, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a review. What’s one “random” thought you need to focus into something real?

SPEAKER_00: Yeah. I call this goofing around. Good morning. Good afternoon. Good evening. Good everything. How are you? Welcome. You heard me. I said I call this goofing around. You know, sometimes you sit down and you ask yourself, what do I talk about today? What do I talk about? Yeah, I've not forgotten. I have to ask, how are you? How are you doing? It means a lot to me. I need to know how you're doing. I know you're doing fine. I know you're doing well. Yep, I'm doing well. Life is good. Uh-huh. So, goofing around. Sometimes, like, I have to record something. I have to, you know. So, what do I really even record? What do I talk about? What do I talk about? So the other day, I was having a discussion with my wife. My wife is my greatest fan, and my greatest. When she criticizes me as an alright, when she critiques me, I beg your pardon. Like you didn't do this right, you didn't do that right, you would have done it this way, blah, blah, blah. And I learned a lot from her. You know, so she used the word random, like random. You are random. Most times when you talk, I say, really am I? I didn't say this out loud, but I was like kind of processing it, okay. Random. Random, okay. All right. So specifically, now you have to look at what should I talk about? What should I focus on? But again, I now played some things back, you know, over the years, being on the on the show, being on set, talking, how did we get to where we are, how did we create and all that. And I realized that random doesn't cut it. What do I mean by random doesn't cut it. This is my human experience. When we are bam, when we are like, what's the right word now to use? Barraged, exactly, with so many things. We try to define them, we try to bring a definition to it, and we say when we can't explain it, we come up with an explanation. It just happened random. Random suggests uncoordinated, not thinking, as it were. It just happened, or I will say it, you just winged it. But I remember a saying I got earlier that is a slim line between fate and coincidence. Very thin line, very, very thin. But what I got from that discussion was we all have a unique way of thinking, presenting our thoughts, that you must grow the capacity to stay focused. Like focused. You know, when you look at the word focused or focus, I beg your pardon, the best way to explain focus is you're blind to every other thing, just one thing. You're seeing just one thing. Even the noise at the background, you don't pay attention to it. You're just focused. And over time, your focus begins to either reduce or broaden as the case may be. So you see, let me share this thought with you. It's not random now, but I want to share it with you. There's a scripture that says, as a man thinketh, so he is. So you are what you think, correct? That's what scripture says. So where do thoughts come from? Where do where do thoughts come from? How do we, you know, I don't want to go into the science now of how many thoughts we think per minute, the thought streams. But the question now is where do thoughts come from? Question mark, food for thought. Where do thoughts come from? Thoughts rule us, but ultimately our actions stem from our thoughts that grows into words, conversation, and at the end of the day, powers our lives. Again, I go back to it. Where do they come from? You know, when God created man from scriptures, when we look at scriptures, he made man in his image, likeness, and form. Three dimensions to our existence or our being, image, likeness, form. So what is image? Image speaks to visual, what you see, or your imagination. So man is a creature of image or imagery. We always power everything we do from image. So our thoughts come from what we always see. Everything around us, what we focus on, forms our thoughts. Because even look at it, look at it critically. You may not have observed this, but quieten, quieten your environment, your spirit. Try and play back things that have happened around your life. Try, you can, it's you know, quiet and play it back. You notice that it was when you saw something that your thoughts began. You started thinking, you started processing it. And the more you dwelt on it, the more concentrated it became. And the more concentrated it became, it bubbled out of your mouth. You voiced it. And the minute you voiced it, because the universe is voiced, activated, action happened. Because that question has been, how do I control my thoughts? Because the center of our being is our thinking, thoughts, the battlefield. So the image, the image, what you see around you all the time, what you have before you. It leads to meditation. What is meditation? You regurgitate it, you say it. Have you ever seen where you are in an environment where a particular sound is playing, and all of a sudden, because you stay there for maybe five, ten minutes, your subconscious absorbs it, and minute your legs begin to move to the sound. Uh-huh. Like I say, you see a saying. I saw that in the Bible and it tripped me when Habakkuk, if you go to Habakkuk, you see it there. When Habakkuk met with God and he said, I will stand on my watch and see what he will say. How do you see a saying? So it tells me that God showed Habakkuk an image, and from the image it could hear. Yeah. So the priest always has this experience of image. That image, the priest dwells on the image to form a language. The language to communicate what he has seen comes with what? Words. That's how random I can be. So sometimes when I when I think about coming into the space, you know, uh not goofing around now, but what do I do? What do I do? What do I do? And boom, I see an image. And that image, I can't help it but to dwell on it. All right, guys. It's always fun coming here to share thoughts with you. Always. I hope this has inspired you in some levels, you know. And uh I'll tell you one more. One more story. Something that a good number of us may not have come across but influences us deeply. The story of Isaac Newton, I won't go into so much, but I'll just tell you something about Sir Isaac Newton. If you call that name Sir Isaac Newton, what most likely will come to your mind is what? Newton's first law of motion, gravity, which snowballs into thermodynamics and all of that. But do you know that Sir Isaac Newton did not start by all of these things I've said? Sir Isaac Newton was known in then Victoria Bridging for going after people who were falsifying coins. It was very mathematical. You know, then people who forged coins and all that. Where am I going with this thought? Sir Isaac Newton searched the Bible for clues to life. Yes. Clues to life. If you check from the history or historical collections or data of human life existence, the word gravity came into being when Sir Isaac Newton coined it. Where did he get it from? Searching the scriptures for clues. What is gravity? That force that pulls you to the center of the earth. So he was going about seeking for answers to make the society better in terms of cleaning it up from criminal elements. And would I dare say he stumbled into gravity? The study of science, he became one of the famous names in physics. For over a century, nobody could challenge his thinking pattern, not until another person came on the scene. His name, Albert Einstein. The law of relativity, E equals to MC squared. Alright, then I'm gonna stop there. I'm gonna stop there before I get you all mixed up. You understand? So this is how randomness works. This is how randomness works, restlessness, as it were. This is how, in my opinion, it works. You know, it is searching. And the minute it sees, it focuses, it dwells. Alright, guys, I'm so excited doing this, at least. I got you thinking, did I? All right, then I have to run now.
