S5 Ep. 303 The Prophetic As Preparation

16:36

Send us Fan Mail

The future is coming whether you feel ready or not, so why do we treat foresight like entertainment instead of a responsibility? I record this one outdoors in the wind and use that setting to slow down and think clearly about a loaded word: “the prophetic.” For many of us, especially if you’ve been around Nigerian religious culture, prophecy can sound like someone declaring what will happen next. I want to offer a different lens that keeps the faith but adds clarity and usefulness.

We talk about time as the hidden structure under everything we do. In science, in work, in relationships, in growth, time is the constant reference point. When we divide life into past, present, and future, the present becomes the action zone where preparation happens. From that view, the prophetic is less about spectacle and more about readiness: noticing patterns, learning from data, and making choices now that shape what you’ll experience later.

To ground it, I walk through simple examples like transportation and communication. We went from horses and long travel times to automobiles, planes, and systems that keep compressing distance. We went from surface mail to email where information moves instantly. Then we connect that same logic to modern future forecasting, including AI predictions based on current capabilities and available data. It’s not magic, it’s projection plus continuous improvement, and it’s something you can apply to your own life planning and personal development.

If you’ve ever wondered what 2030, 2050, or even next year might look like for your career, finances, or purpose, this is your nudge to get serious in a grounded way. Subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review with your biggest takeaway: what timeline are you preparing for right now?

SPEAKER_00: Good morning. Good afternoon. Good evening. Good everything. Welcome to the World Cafe Live Show. I love my set today. Pretty windy here this morning. How are you doing? Yes, I need to ask that. How are you? Uh, I'm fine where I am. As in you can see me in nature uh this very moment. It's pretty windy, and I'm enjoying the wind. How has it been? Yes, I decided to bring you, my audience, out with me, you know, on this episode, uh, to see things and also to share things with you. Yes. What am I going to be doing today? It's been an amazing time, and I'm grateful to God about it. Yeah, I'm grateful to God. I want to talk about something that has been with me for a while. Like it's been in with me. I've been ruminating over it and all that, and I call it the prophetic. Yeah. The prophetic. I know you when you hear that word, the next thing will come to your mind is the future, maybe. The prophetic. How do you view the prophetic? Now, I want to approach this subject matter from where I stand, you know, speaking of my faith and my country, Nigeria. If you've been around Nigerians, we're very religious people, and we we tend to run after quote and unquote prophecies. You know, you see a group of individuals, they come across uh a man of God, a preacher, and the next thing is prophesy or a word of prophecy or something. Maybe that's what came to your mind. Well, maybe, and I want to look at this from another lens, the prophetic. You know, I talk about time a lot on this show. You know, I I try to take us into that dimension of time. We're creatures, human beings in this dimension on this side of eternity, we're creatures of time. Everything about us is timed. Like I remember in my physics class when, or rather, secondary school, physics, biology, chemistry, whenever we're doing any form of experiment, there's a common denominator, time. When you talk about acceleration, change in speed, velocity, change in acceleration over time. Time is a reference. You carry out anything, it's a reference. And we have come to segment time into past, present, future. The past you can't do anything about. The future is what you always desire, you know, that the present is what I call it that phase, that time for things to be done so that the future will appear. Somebody said the future is everything that we are yet to be. But so, how do you value? I mean, how do you view the prophetic? This is how I view the prophetic. Yeah. Dictionary definition. If you want to look at the prophetic, you're going to define it from the point of view of the future, seeing the future, saying something about the future. Okay, when you look at it from that perspective, from the dictionary definition, because you're looking at the future, something is going to happen. Somebody is talking about it, somebody is saying, you know, speaking to it. The question now arises, or the question comes up. So, what do I do about it? What do I do about it? How do I approach it? How do I take it? How do I weave it? Now, let us look at mobility. Yeah, mobility moving from one place to the other. Hundred, two hundred, or even a thousand years ago, it was about using horses, oxes. You had uh what you call now chariots, you know, moving from one place to the other. And it moved, and now we have automobiles. Now, when you look at automobiles, you see how they have also evolved. So you might think it maybe in time past, 200 years ago, something was said about that, you know, that come to so and so time, forms of transportation, you know, would take would would mirror teleportation in a way like you're moving from one place to the other over a short span of time. Before now, I mean, before this period, it used to be like you move with horses over a very long distance. Time comes, I mean, the the amount of time you spend, so the the the the resources and all of that. But look at it now, in the future of mobility. There's aeroplanes, there's escalators, there's motocars, there's bicycles, tricycles, what have you. So we are now moving at a faster speed, so to say. Now, can we project into the future? The future I'm talking about now, 50 years from now, 70 years from now. So, can we say prophetically, our movement is going to change? It's going to be faster. We're going to create, we're going to build, we're going to put together faster structures that can move us through time faster than it is now. Just like when it used to be surface mail, you write on paper, you put it in an envelope, you take it to the post office, you put a stamp on it, you know, and it goes through one state to the other, another, another. But now we have what is called emails, electronic mails, where you just hit a button and you say send in a twinkle of an eye, the message appears at the other end. So this is how I view the prophetic, our human development, our human improvement, our human expansion, so to say, on the strength of knowledge, knowledge that is powered on time or by time. That's how I view it. So recently, people have been going through uh this material, this site actually, they come up with uh a lot of materials, technology, and all that. So there's this column they put prediction of the future. So I said, okay, what are they predicting? They're predicting now the what AI is going to look like in 10 years, 20 years, 30 years, 40 years' time. And I put it on the pedestal of the prophetic. Yeah, I put it on the pedestal of the prophetic. So they are predicting based on the reality, what is happening now, the available data to them. So it's like, okay, if this is happening now, can we like extrapolate? Can we look into the future? Can we look at what time will do to this data, available data, in terms of improvement, continuous improvement, and all of that? And they came up with so many, so many, so many options, I would say. So now that's to say, if you look at it from the angle of development, they are locking in development in time. That's what they are doing. Locking in development in time. So as a result of the human capacity to project into the future, to see into the future. Amazing, isn't it? So that's how I see it. That's how I view it. And that's why each time I sit down to collect data that has to do with time, I see into the future. I can tell. I can. Would I say they will say calculated guest now or an intelligent guest? You understand? I'm a Christian, I'm a believer, and I believe in the prophetic. I believe in the prophetic. I don't believe in the prophetic in such a way that, like it's suiting, or like it's, you know, a wave of a wand and all of that. No. I believe in the prophetic because words come to us. God speaks to us about what will come. The speaking is to prepare us, put data together and to develop ourselves in preparation of what will come. Developed societies, a lot of developed societies ride on the prophetic. Like, if you really, really inquire, study, you will see that those who are, should I say, sitting on economic, uh economic power, those who hold the wings of power, they run after the prophetic. Yes, they want to know what will happen in the future. They want to know what will happen, should I say, uh, the market, how the market will behave, how the market will respond. So they run after the future. They invest in it heavily, and they strategically pitch themselves, and they become like authorities or controlling factors within this fair. And I asked myself, so why should I play or downplay or bring the prophetic into a casual frame? No, it is something you should take seriously, something you should embrace. I failed to come share with you this what would 2050 look like? What would 2030 look like? What would 2027 look like? What would 2026 December look like? These are timelines, these are time frames. Whether you like it or not, they will come. But when they come, will they catch you on a word? Will they take you? They I'm referring to now the time frames, take you on award. So that is what you should know. The prophetic. The prophetic. The prophetic predictions. You are conscious, you are aware, you are positioning yourself, you're keeping yourself in such a way that things don't take you unawares. You trust God as He leads you. You gather data, you analyze them, you look into the, yes, actually look into the future. What's going to happen? What's going to happen? All right, guys, that is what I came to do on the show today. You know how we say it on the show. This is the space where we come in to lean on one and others' experience to what? Forge a positive path. Yes, I love it. Part of the reason why we are here is because you are there and it's always excited coming in to share with you time and time again. Yes, we're available on all the social media platforms. Yeah, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok. We have a YouTube channel. Have you subscribed? Go ahead and subscribe. Yes, grow so that we can grow the speech together. Yeah, and hit that notification button so that when episodes like this drop, you'll be the first to catch it. Go ahead and share. Like, subscribe. Alright, then I have to run now, but I'm enjoying myself. The wind here is fantastic. It's fresh, so beautiful. Then I have to run. Yes, to where? Another location, another moment, another day, another time to give you something to think about. All right, then, till I come your way again. You know how we say it on the show. My name is Amakri. Amakri is away. Bye for now.
